Nose: Nice and clearly malty. It opens on a nice mixture of fruit, flowers, and a touch of wax. Little strawberries and some apple. Over time, it's more on tart apples and just a few drops of lemon juice. Definitely grassy. Honey and crystallized fruit. A little linseed oil and graininess. Pleasant.
Palate: A bit flat. Not nearly as rich as the nose. More vanilla, sugar, malt. Grassy, and the wood's strong. Trace of bitter flower petals and thin/light oatmeal/grain. Limpid lemon. The wood gives off a subtle waxy vibe, but it comes up short.
Finish: Some of the red fruit returns, and the wood gives way to more grain, vanilla, and light toffee. It's a nice a pretty stereotypical Lowland whisky. Nice, but doesn't have any 'wow' in it. The light sugar comes off as artificial at turns, but not so much that it bothers me.
