Druma Mor is a series of malts from a young (2019), independent bottler from… Belgium! It is run by Geert De Bolle, well known in the Belgian whisky scene. So far they have 6 releases out and this young Blair Athol is one of the first. Druma Mor translate more or less to ‘Drumfield’, which is a reference to the Trommelveld in Affligem, Geert’s proverbial background. But I digress!

Deliciously sweet nose on apfelstrüdel, peach from a tin and mandarin. Juicy and inviting.

Nicly oily body, sweeter than the nose promised but with a bit of tannins that makes it somewhat drying, but offers weight at the same time. Nicely spicy on cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. The strength is near perfect.

Long, sweet and peppery finish.

Lovely Blair Athol and fine choice by Geert and his gang. Thanks for the sample, Buds & Barrels!
