I chanced upon a Bowmore 17 at my local liquor shop for $66(after tax). I haven't tried the Bowmore series before. I woulld like to know how is this rated before taking the plunge.
I've never had the pleasure of trying it, because it's not available in Ontario, but I've heard really good things about it. I would snatch it up in a second if I was you, partially though because I'm a lover of Bowmores and secondly because of the price. I don't know how expensive the relative whiskies are in San Fran, but in Ontario I paid around $85 for my Bowmore 15 Darkest. The reviews on Connosr are really good too!
Tried a few bottles of Bomore now, from the Legend through to a 25 YO via the 12 YO, Darkest 15 YO, Cask Strength, Mariner 15 YO, 1992 Wine Cask 16 YO, 18 YO.
I have to say the 12 YO is a nice light everyday dram, the cask strength was a great after dinner drink but the 18 YO was superb and so far my favourite.
@DevD Well...no... I'm assuming that they would be similar in style, I may well be wrong but I think the 17 YO would be worth a go based on my experience with the 18 YO.
