Children of the Damned is a horror movie from 1964, but also a hard rock song by Iron Maiden. Since I know that The Whiskyman has a soft spot for music, we will presume his bottle is a reference to Iron Maiden (his Glen Scotia 1992 Run to the Stills confirms this further). Anyway, this bottling has only just been released. It has a great label, but a young content. Being Bowmore, this does not have to be a disadvantage, of course.
Very tight and narrow nose (if you know what I mean) holding the middle between sweet and salty. Loads of maritime elements, olive sap, very delicate peat. Upholstered with sugared grapefruit skins and some pear syrup. Soft vanilla. Loads of chalk. Stockfish? Nice!
Good mouthfeel – almost waxy – with exactly the same elements as the nose, but the maritime side easily overcomes the sweet fruit now. Sea salt, soot and oyster sap, sprinkled with grapefruit. Midplate it becomes quite dry.
There is a little more smoke and pepper in the mildly drying finish. At the death, a sweet uppercut is delivered.
Nice nose, even better palate, but what a finish. You can add him to your cabinet for 85 EUR.

Nice review Mark. Wanted to get a bottle for my wife for Christmas at The Bonding Dram 'cause she is a Maiden fan. Meanwhile it seems to be sold out.
