Drag @WhiskyBee. I've had the Glengoyne 17 and it's a very nice dram. Can you find anything to put it into temporarily? A well cleaned jam jar or something? I would run it through a coffee filter or a very fine strainer to get rid of any bits of stray cork. My guess is that it will start to break down at the broken end fairly quickly. I feel your pain brother.

@whiskybee, I would pour the whisky into a vessel which is clean and large enough to deal with the content of your bottle and then simply remove the cork - you could use the plastic bag www.youtube.com/watch

@maltster, THANK YOU!!! I tried the plastic-bag trick, and it worked perfectly, first time.

@WhiskyBee Happy to hear everything worked out! I am kicking myself for not ordering the Glengoyne 17YO I saw on sale for $49.99...

Opened my bottle of Glengoyne 17 yo, only to have the cork split in two right away. I tried to use a corkscrew to gently pry out the remainder of the cork, but it fell into the bottle at the slightest touch.
I don't currently have an empty bottle into which I can transfer the contents, and for the money I'd spend on a decanter, I'd rather buy another bottle of whisky.
Any ideas as to how long the cork can float in the bottle before it starts to taint the whisky? If I have to drink it all this month before it goes bad, that's fine. It's good stuff.
