- Brand: Clan Campbell
- ABV: 40%
The Clan Campbell blend on the market today contains mostly Glenallachie. It is named for Sir Colin Campbell who valiantly fought the English in 1266. Since then the Duke of Argyll, clan head of the Campbells, carries the honorific MacCailein Mor, meaning ‘son of the great Colin’. Since 1984 this blend is a bestseller… in France.
Very summery and fresh nose on apples, vanilla and some floral notes. But with that, everything is said. Very simply, very accessible and light.
Ouch… On the palate, it is more like drinking sugar water on steroids. Add some vanilla, creamy caramel and a single Golden Delicious apple. Nothing else is going on here.
The finish is rather short, softly spiced and offers a tiny bit of woodsmoke.
Expect nothing and you will not be disappointed. To mix.
