- Brand: Clen Denny
- ABV: 43%
- Batch: Cask #DMG09
From this Clan Denny bottling we only know that it is a Speyside single malt of barely three years old, which got a finish on bourbon barrels. Does that mean that this malt then started its life on a sherry cask? No idea.
Soft nose on yellow fruits and cereal cookies. A very malty heart, but fruity enough to keep it interesting, methinks. Hint of fruit beer. Gentle spiciness. This is not too bad for me, even though it is quite simple.
Good body. Clearly young with notes of sultanas, Grany forest fruit cookie, hazelnuts and a hint of coconut. A touch immature with a chemical sweetness now comes to the surface. How floral. Feel free to make it perfume-y. Darn.
The finish is medium long with violets (the purple candy) with some black pepper.
Young malt, not a top dram, but priced accordingly (about 30 EUR). Thanks, Pat!
