Condensation

I have purchased a number of bottles lately from 3 different LCBO locations. Each bottle is a recent release, and has not been opened (fully sealed). When I checked them in the stores I noticed that each bottle had considerable amounts of condensation inside the neck of the bottle, toward the cork. I have returned 2, only to find the ones that I exchange for have the same problem. Keep in mind too that the bottles were from different distilleries and stores. The product consultant, who is also and avid collector, told me that I shouldn't be concerned.

Should there be concern that the liquid inside will evaporate or the cork spoil? I intend to store these bottles for long-term. Has anyone had this problem before?

Bottles can lose volume with long term holding; a look at auction bottles will confirm this. How one avoids this I'm not sure...I'm eager to see the answers though as I've a few bottles I'm saving long term as well.

I totally get what you mean, however these bottles were purchased from the store this past week. They are new releases as well. I could understand if I bought them years ago and have stored them, for years on end, with fluctuating temperatures, etc. My storage area is in my basement, and hovers between 60-67 degrees F. The bottles are in the dark and are cool to touch.

To be honest, I have bottles that are unopened from 10 years ago, and are still in perfect condition.

Still curious to see if the condensation is anything to concern about? The bottle has a high fill value.
