I was gifted this bottle for Xmas, along with 2 Norlan glasses which are quite easy on the eyes. Sitting down to write this before I take the wife out for New Year's Eve festivities.

This is an Alabama style whiskey, and as a native Alabamian, I'm interested to see what this has to offer. I really enjoyed their straight bourbon, let's see how this stacks up. Neat in a Glencairn (as pretty as the Norlans are, they don't perform as well as a Glencairn.)

Nose: Pleasant orchard fruit nose. Granny smith apples with a scoop of peanut butter. Delivers decent strength of flavor for a low proof whiskey. A bit of grain in the background.

Palate: Lots of grain here and not as pleasant as the nose, but not bad. Corn and rye for sure. Not overly sweet and not as much fruit as the nose suggested. Pretty no nonsense whiskey. Easy to drink, smooth some would say.

Finish: The finish is quite nice. Goes down way too easy and the apples from the nose have turned red from green. Fruity finish similar to the nose.

Overall: This is fine. Not sure I would buy a bottle, but it's nice to see my home state representing.

Happy New Year everyone!

I got this as a gift. Your review confirms trading it in with a few other for Lagavulin 12 was a good idea...
