Berry Brothers & Rudd, the famous British bottler, recently launched their so-called Classic Range, in which you’ll find both whisky and rum. The make no secret of the fact that their Irish Whiskey was sourced at the Cooley Distillery.

Vanilla and lime juice, that’s basically the nose in a nutshell. Hints of pencil graphite and apricots. Fairly straightforward, but nothing wrong with that. Very summery.

Both body and strength are fine. While I could not detect any peat on the nose, this malt shows a lovely smokiness on the palate, making it an incognito Connemara. Underneath you’ll discover some tropical fruit with citrus in the lead, followed by apricots and some mango.

Medium long finish, without any shenanigans.

Absolutely flawless, but somewhat ordinary. Around 60 EUR. Thanks for the sample, Benny.
