@RikS, I would consider that choice to be a total crap shoot. Why? Because batches of Corryvreckan vary so much one to the next. If you ask me which I'd like better I'd say it would depend on the specific bottle of Corryvreckan involved. I'd likely enjoy a really good batch of Corryvreckan more than the Caol Ila 18, and I'd almost certainly prefer the Caol Ila 18 to either of the first two bottles (from different batches) of Corryvreckan which I have already bought.
Which would I, at this point, buy? Unquestionably I'd buy the Caol Ila 18 yo. Why? Because I have 2 bottles of Corryvreckan in my cabinet now, and 0 bottles of Caol Ila 18 yo.

@Victor Thank you! So, with 10, Oogie and An Oa in the cabinet and not wanting to risk to pick a raw batch, and very few 'older mellow' expressions in the cabinet but rather more youthful (i.e. not so 'expensive' ones)... I'm now leaning to the 'safer' option of the Caol Ila 18.
Sweet and mellow... I hear (from reviews), which sounds rather ideal for sipping on the holiday porch in front of the Mediterranean...

I can only echo @Victor ; I have 1 bottle of Corryvreckan and 0 bottles of Caol Ila 18. And I really like everything I’ve tasted from Caol Ila.

It's a moot point in Ontario where Corryvreckin is $204.95 and Caol Ila 18 is unavailable.
The last time CI 18 was listed at the LCBO from what I understand it was just over $100, which may be why when the 18 CS (unpeated) was available for about 30 seconds it was listed at that price. In one store. Thanks again @Astroke for your help in getting one.
Next to the CS versions I've tried (peated, unpeated, at home and at a masterclass), the 12 is a little weak. However, it's mighty fine on its own and I would guess the 18 would be even better, even at 43%. Given my enjoyment of CI, and the fact that I own and plan to open a Corryvreckin (bought a few years back for about $85-90 CA) later this year, I would buy the CI 18.

Yes yes, I know... it's an odd comparison maybe, but the reason for the question is that 1) both have good price at the airport, 2) I want to pick up a nice something for the holiday, 3) I'm sure that many here - like me - already may have (or have sampled) the Ardbegs (10, Uigedail, An Oa) and the Caol Ilas (12, D.E.).
So what I'm really asking, with the above in mind and what's in my cabinet, which one would YOU (entirely subjectively) pick up, if they were the same price, and why?
