My wife and I decided we need a summer get away. So, we decided to go to New Hampshire for no particular reason. I confess that I had heard that single malts could be had for a bargain compared to the LCBO. We dropped in at the government run liquor store and I immediately headed for the whisky section. One of my favourite malts is Lagavulin and I rarely buy it at the LCBO. The current price is 130.00. At this store in NH they had it at a sale price of 56.00. Even with the exchange it was a great buy. They also had Talisker Storm for 58.00. Needless to say I bought them. Between my wife and I we spend 155.00. Now the surprise. Because we spend over $150 we were given a $25 gift card. Can you imagine in your wildness imagination the LCBO ever doing this.
