A little background on Crown.

Crown Royal distillery is in Gimli on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Just over an hour and 1/2 from Winnipeg the capital of Manitoba. Originally owned by Seagram's who was bought out by Diageo Public limited company in 2000.

Crown Royal cask 16 was given as a sample to me by a co-worker who loves his Crown and wanted to share. Thanks Marc.

Crown Royal Cask 16 is made from over fifty blended and individually aged whiskies in 12 year old cognac barrels.

Cask 16 was initially released in 2007.

Color:Amber

Nose: Sweet Fall Autumn wood smell

Palate: Sweet and spicy Oak flavor with a hint of dried fruits...peach, smooth.

Finish:dry with a grape seed bitterness. Medium length finish.

Overall I found this version of Crown quite pricey at $100/bottle. I have heard that it can be purchased in the USA at a much discounted cost which is more inline with the product.
