Dailuaine 18 Year Old 1980 Samaroli

I do not have a lot of experience with Dailuaine. This is only my fifth, bottled a very long time ago by the famous Italian bottler Samaroli.

I get mostly sweet malt on the nose, grain cookies with some honey, cardamom and vanilla. Hints of green banana. Not very expressive, I must say.

On the palate, the banana and vanilla, which return in full force, are joined by some oranges and green tea. Hint of mint. White pepper? All rather docile, really.

Rather short and herbal finish.

Well, this Dailuaine failed to make my heart beat any faster.
