Do you have a 'go-to' scotch?

I find that when I just want a whisky, I turn to Bowmore 12 yr old. I have other options, but this is my regular, and it is very affordable. This isn't the 'last bottle on earth' scotch, but a regular 'can drink it any time' scotch.

What is everyone's 'go-to?'

Here are several go-tos that I keep going back to, depending on what I'm in the mood for. These are currently Glenmorangie Original & LaSanta, Macallan 12, Highland Park 12, Jura Superstition, Ardmore Trad Cask, Bruichladdich Rocks, Macallan Cask Strength and Ardbeg 10. These are mostly 46% ABV or greater. If I had to pick only one (a tough decision), it would likely be one in the middle of the list.

Talisker 18! But, I'm not sure how long! Only 2 bottles left. Then it will be Talisker 10....more available.

That's a lot of HP12. I guess I need to take everyone's advice and go grab a bottle.

My first-ever dram was a Highland Park, either HP or Glenfarclas for me.

Usually my go-to-scotch is ARDBEG or GLENFARCLAS. I like to keep G&M and CADENHEAD bottlings of several different malts on hand including SMWS bottlings as well.

If Laphroaig Quarter Cask was more available in Quebec, Canada, that would definitely be the one, but I hesitate between Bowmore 12 YO and Talisker 10 YO.

Arbeg 10yo at the moment. When i have it in, Laphroaig quarter cask too. But if i had bottomless funds it'd be the Supernova 2010 all day, every day

Very interesting question. I have to say that in my cabinet, at the moment, with very few exception, there are only signatory malts. Therefore u could label them almost al "go-to" scotches. Nevertheless I have to say that the one that I most regularly pick up lately is the Old Pulteney. I love the nose and its uniquely neutral character. Neutral is not meant negatively, au contraire I like how there's no dominant flavor in this malt. This is probably the reason the keeps me getting back to it.

agree with the HP 12, also the low flyer (grouse) is a a solid standby for me

If I feel like having one but can't decide, I'll allways have Glenfarclas 15yo.

Cant narrow it down to just one so; Talisker 10/18, Ancnoc 12, Glenfarclas 15, Lagavulin DE, Amrut CS and Buffalo Trace depending on mood

My daily dram is now Te Bheag , it's a blend but it's really good ... it's even better when you figure in the price. When I want a single malt I go far a GlenDronach 12 yr, Cragganmore 12 yr or a Highland Park 12 yr.
