Ezra Brooks brand is owned by Luxco Corp. of St. Louis, Missouri. Luxco does not own or operate any distilleries, but has the Ezra Brooks Label whiskeys distilled by Heaven Hill Distilleries in Kentucky. Ezra Brooks sells Green Label, 80 proof, 4 yr, a Black Label, 90 proof, 4 yr, Old Ezra, 101 proof 7 yr, and Ezra B, a single barrel 12 yr. This review is of Old Ezra, aged 7 yrs

Nose: sweet, caramel, oak, moderate in intensity

Taste: oak flavours are very prominent, but are more mellow and flavourful here than in a lot of other bourbons. This is sweet, and, there is a bit of sweet orange flavour here, which is infrequent in bourbons. You get wood and maple sugar here quickly. There is significant spice, but it is not what you notice. The 50.5% alcohol goes well with the flavours

Finish: rather long in duration, very pleasant, woody and sweet

Balance: If you like sweet and woody, this is a nice bourbon. It is probably the least known of the Ezra Brooks products, with the 90 proof Black Label Ezra Brooks being the standard. While not at the top of the connoisseur's ladder, this is a very pleasant sweet bourbon whiskey
