@Jonathan Not a fair comparison. I’m a Laphroaig nut, but Select is a weak offering. I mean, it’s Laphroaig and I like it, but Select is not up to snuff for Laphroaig, imho.

I haven't tried it, but it looks like the only Laffy with sherry influence in the line up. Was this decision to discontinue the Triple Wood already welll known? It was one of my first bottles , and I've recently come to reappreciate it in part because of your review. . I'm thinking of alternatives: I've had enough Oogie for a lifetime, and Loch Gorm is a bit too sherry heavy for me, I like the lighter sherry touch. None will replace the Triple Wood.

correction: the Cairdeas Fino is coming....sherry and peat at 51abv.

@Jonathan I have the Cairdeas Fino but haven’t tried it yet. Have you tried Lagavulin Distillers Edition? It’s a nice peat-Sherry combo

@OdysseusUnbound I really like the Lad De. Great stuff. The price/value ratio has decreased (price went up) and I haven't even seen it around, though.

@Jonathan Yeah, Lag DE is around $170-$175 here now. More than I’m willing to spend.

@OdysseusUnbound I checked here in Pennsylvania, Lagavulin Distiller's Edition is going for $100 US. That amounts to $130.52 Canadian. I thought our prices here were high. You folks are getting screwed over.

@OdysseusUnbound probably as good as we get at that up here...
