It's not at all uncommon for Springbanks to offer that oily, viscous texture.
Yes, I'd agree with your assumption about the CS vs lower-than-46% abv whiskies being more likely to exhibit the character, but not all CS whiskies have it.

It's not a malt whisky, but George T. Stagg Bourbon is as full bodied as A'Bunadh… some batches mmay be a little more even.

Longrow CV, Macallan Cask Strength, Blackadder raw cask bottlings, Glenfarclas 105, Laphroaig Cask Strengths, and finally a fave of mine: Ardbeg 10 mixed with Fortaleza tequila :)).
I agree that A'bunadh and Stagg are on the thick side. I tasted an Ardbeg Alligator a few weeks ago and it was quite viscous. The Uigeadails can also be thick depending upon the year and hour of bottling.

Cask strength whiskies are usually more on the thick side. Bookers small batch bourbon is thick, although I'm not sure if it is cask strength; it's up there in the ABV, that's for sure. Kinda like pancake syrup. . . .

Booker's is bottled at cask strength. It is also thick and rich. It is an excellent dram.
Amrut Intermediate Sherry is another rich dram. I also agree about the Sprongbank Cask Strengthers

All the ones I was going to mention have already been identified - George T Stagg, Amrut Intermediate Sherry, Aberlour A'Bunadh - but here is one which is the most full bodied of all : Amrut Portonova. The creamiest dram to grace the planet.

William Larue Weller and that 73.75% ABV batch of 17 YO Abraham Bowman Bourbon.

Glen Ord 25 is probably the most viscous whisky I've had... as well as the greatest!

I own a bottle of Amrut Portonova thanks to tabarakRazvi's suggestion. Can't wait to try it soon. Check out his whisky website, it rules: maltactivist.com

I have a few drams left of my bottle of Portonova, and a few decanted drams at the in-laws where we tried them last year, and will do again this year. And I am very happy that I bought 2 when I was sourcing it...
I would say it's great, but I don't recall it being thick.

So far the Aberlour A'Bunadh is the most full bodied i've tasted (I think), is there something that can match or even 'out-body' it?
I assume CS offerings are going to be thicker than the usual 43-46%ABV's ...
