The Italian bottler Wilson & Morgan has, so far, only two Glen Keith releases. This is a vatting of two refill sherry casks, bottled at drinking strength and thus yielden no less than 605 bottles.

The nose is sweet on caramelized apples, hazelnuts and almonds with hints of orangettes and cinnamon. It is a bit dry, if you know what I mean. Aniseed in the background. It has both a herbal and tropical side, but it is not a fruit bomb by far. Having said that, this is a very pleasant nose.

The arrival is very soft. Light body. Nuts and oranges return. A bit of pepper kicks in, as do cloves and nutmeg. Speculoos. Less fruity than hoped, but quite pleasant. Again fairly dry, just as the nose.

The finish offers a nice trace of woodsmoke. Not very long, though, that finish. But soft.

Not the best Glen Keith I have tried – far from it – but nevertheless a nice Speysider. Around 60 EUR, which I find quite fair. Thanks, Imanuel!
