It's this one: www.bonhams.com/eur/auction/17244/lot/129/ and you're probably looking at around £ 2000 by now. You could try www.whiskyauction.com (very high fee though), or shops like www.thewhiskyexchange.com who buy collection items, or directly contact some people who might be interested.

Yes it is that one - wow!
I knew it was worth something as it was bought for me when someone saw a bottle being sold for 500 in harrods (not that I shop there) in the late 80s.
I will try thewhiskyexchange and thanks whiskeynotes for the feedback but how would I find 'people who might be interested' ?

Some advice about selling - remember the following:
1) If you sell at auction you will need to pay the auction house fees, so you won't get the full hammer price. 2) If you sell to a retailer then you won't get the price you find on the website - we need to charge both VAT and make some money on the bottle. 3) eBay is an option for collectible bottles, but make sure you read the rules about selling alcohol (and look at the boilerplate text that other auctions use to see how to keep to them).
Most whisky forums specifically forbid using them to sell stuff, but if you look around the internet (and ask this question somewhere like whiskywhiskywhisky.com - you won't be able to sell through there, but they should have some suggestions for where you can ask) then you might be able to find a private buyer.
@scotsmac For The Whisky Exchange you can send some pictures of your bottle to sss@thewhiskyexchange.com (that's Sukhinder, aka my boss) and he'll let you know if we're interested. As we're in the middle of the Christmas rush he's got a bit of a backlog of valuations, so it may take a few weeks before you hear from him - ping me at billy@thewhiskyexchange.com if you haven't heard anything by the end of January.

Great Advice Billy,
Funnily enough I had sent an email to your boss but I'll post you in on it. I would like to sell it asap as I've been meaning to for a while and the latest admission to hospital made me get it down from the loft, so I don't want to take it through to the new year.
I'm sure there are a few buyers in the city but I'd like to just come down to someone and do the deal, I think there's a bargain to be had here. I know you're busy, couldn't think of a busier time to be selling Whisky, but maybe you can bring it to the attention of Sukhinder?
Thanks once again...

Hi All,
i'm new here but wanted to ask a question of those in the know. I have a bottle of Glenfarclas 1955, it is in a blue velvet presentation case, with 6 lead glass tumblers and glass stopper that I want to sell.
It was a limited edition and there were only 100 made, this has its certificate and is No 100 out of the 100 and came direct from the distillery. I'm guessing that No1 or No 100 out of this lot would have some kind of premium but I don't know.
I was going to drink it on my 50th but that came and went and ill-health means I wont enjoy it much so its up for sale.
Does anyone have any ideas what its worth or where I would best sell it??
Thanks everyone...
