I've been reading reviews about this whisky but it is not for sale online or in stores yet. Anyone know when it will be available?

It's should be up within the next week at The Whisky Exchange - I think the UK launch dinner was last night.

I own a great bottle of Glenmorangie Artein today. And I want to put it on my cabinet. I can tell you...It is one of my most best ever whisky what I tasted! I truelly HIGHLY RECOMMEND this piece of Art from the fantastic Glenmorangie. If it is here on Connosr, I surely will review it. I can tell you the rating already 100/100!! I ordered online in the Netherlands. Slainthe! Vinodiuz

I spoke to our Glenmorangie vendor about it when he came in today (I work in grocery), he told me it would be available to order next week. I should have one on the way when it's available. I can't wait.

I bought it today at Hi Time. I wouldn't award it 100 points but it's pretty good and I'm not disappointed with my purchase. I'll post a review of it whenever I get a chance but I don't know how soon that will be. I've had the ten year and all three of the current extra matured releases and I think this new Artein is better than all of them. It's certainly one of the more complex scotches I've been able to try recently. The mint that the tasting notes mention really is noticeable in the finish and it provides a nice lingering flavor. And while it's no Caol Ila it's certainly the smokiest of the Glenmorangies I've tried. I say try it. It's not the greatest whisky I've ever had but it's very good and there's nothing quite comparable that I've ever had. If you're curious about it you'll probably regret not picking up a bottle while it's available right now. That's certainly how I feel about Glenmorangie Sonnalta.

Just opened a bottle tonight. I want to spend a few more nights with it before I really write much about it because I think this is one that I need to spend a little more time to understand. It has complex and integrated layers of flavor that tease the pallet. The more I sip the more I enjoy it.

But, I have to be honest, I really prefer whisk(e)ys that are "in you face" with body and intensity. At first, I thought this whisky had a thin body and was soft. But, after about 1/2 hour with it I don't really think it is thin, rather it has decent body but it is subtle and not "in your face" intense.

Like I said, I think I need to take some time to know this one before I decide where I rate it (right now I see it falling somewhere between 87-93) but it cold even shift outside that range. I will say at least right now, I'm not disappointed that I picked up 3 bottles.

These are curious comments posted about this whisky. @DevD, when you mentioned $ 56 in Maryland (plus tax), I figured that you meant in my county, and within five clicks of me. Indeed, you did. (Maryland won't ship spirts, and these are county government stores)

Not wanting to almost miss it at this price as I did here last year with Sonnalta PX, I just went out and bought some. Preliminary observations: quite complex; I like the nose a lot, and it has a very interesting delivery. This goes more sour citrusy into the finish than I prefer. Overall the Glenmorangie Artein is very nice, though. There are some lovely wine flavours. I will give this some more time before giving it a rating, but this probably will get 87-89 from me.

@Victor You are indeed lucky. I can't get the LVMH powers in NYC to unleash even one case for Wyo.

@Victor Love to have you come up. Oh, and to clear up any doubt, I wouldn't leave here to live in a place just because I could get Artein there. We might even have a few (very few) you haven't had a chance to try yet.

Glenmorangie Artein has some strong similarities to last year's Private Edition Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX. I would call the Artein more complex than the Sonnalta PX, but not quite as beautiful. There is a lot of citrus flavour present here which is not present in Sonnalta PX. Artein is quite attractive and drinkable on its own, however. Dangerously drinkable, actually,...the sort of bottle you could daydream and sip, and find half gone. My sister says that Glenmorangie Artein " drinks like wine". I agree. She also likes to tell malt lovers that she doesn't like Scotch. Well, she had one drink, then two, then three from my bottle of Glenmorangie Artein, then promptly drove to the nearby liquor store to buy six bottles of it for herself. A Scotch she obviously hates.

This past weekend, I opened a bottle of this along with a Signet. This one made the stronger impression of the two by far. The best way I can describe the smell that hits your nose is a field of under ripe strawberries – more floral than pungent. It is quite intense. This reminds me of a tart strawberry lambic produced by the Belgian brewer Hanssens, called Oudbeitje. There is also some slight menthol and spearmint.

Taste is complex, with some red wine tannins, underripe strawberry tops mulled with mint leaves. Nice heat. Dryer and less luscious than the Sonnalta PX, but for the flavors and aromas presented here, that seems appropriate. Fantastic drink, and I have already picked up another bottle.

BTW, the Signet, while good, made much less an impression than either this or the Sonalta PX.

Available at Jeroboams in London UK@ £68.50. If your looking for a top end cask finish without spending a fortune then this is the one, good value and I can say I have spent a lot more on whisky's that do not come close. A good addition to any whisky cabinet
