Disclaimer: I am tasting this immediately after Lot No. 40, which is another whisky from the same distillery.

Nose: a grainy bouquet, if rather light. Honey with hints of maple.

Taste: full-bodied and sweet with a toasted grain and oak bite. Tasted blind I might guess it to be a Forty Creek special bottling. A little rough, though; needs some water to smooth it out.

Finish: bourbony finish, sweet and spicy with oak and honeyed grain.

Balance: a good whisky overall, deceptively complex with a nice mouthfeel. A much bigger dram than the nose would indicate.

I actually don't mind this one at all, kind of a Wiser's Legacy "lite" (Maybe smoothed out by the wheat?)

Interesting that it reminds you of a Forty Creek special bottling--as I'm a big fan of the Forty Creek premium bottling (most of them, anyway) and I really enjoy the G&W.

Does anyone find there is a graininess to the mouth feel? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it just feels like it's textured...

@Nozinan Yes, I'd agree. Like you say, not a bad thing--not as silky as some, and certainly not as complex, but much more "drinkable" to my taste than most other Canadians (especially those at the same price point).
