Grain-forward blended whiskies

Hi all, I've been craving that "grain whisky" creamy, buttery vanilla flavour recently, and having finished off my Compass Box Hedonism months ago, and no grain whisky as such in my end of the world, I'm in a pickle! It came to mind that maybe there are some blends out there that emphasize good quality "grain" flavours (even though most blends try to emphasize their high malt content!). Anyone have any recommendations?

How about Royal Emperor, Pointers Blended (mostly corn and wheat), Kings Rider (ditto), Kings Crown, Ikusa etc. Just a quick Google to see what grain whisky was available in Taiwan.

That, or can you get Cameron Brig (or Cameron Bridge), Carsebridge, Port Dundas etc single grain whiskies over there - or perhaps an Irish grain like Greenore?

@dannyboy: Of all the blended Whiskies. I consider Ballantines 17yo. to be just about perfect, in fact I prefer it to Whiskies costing much, much more. It is so well married that the elements you are looking for are all represented but so well balanced that there is nothing 'forward', just a beautifully blended whole statement!

I don't approve of anyone putting anything in my Malt Whisky but in Ballantines case I make an exception: It's that good!

Cheers!

@A'bunadhman Ha, funny you should mention that, I almost ended up getting the Ballantine's 17 yesterday :P Decided to wait and check if another store is cheaper today, hopefully I will have a nice dram to relax over tonight!

@systemdown Hmm, all those Taiwanese blends you mention are the kind you buy when you want something super cheap to mix with coke. I was after a Scottish blend with some quality aged grain in it, but more forward in the profile rather than sitting in the back smoothing things out. As for all the single grains you mentioned, I wish we had them here, unfortunately no chance... Thanks anyway, I'll let you know how the Ballantine's treats me ;)
