Ginkgo is a vatted malt consisting of single malt from various Japanese distilleries and blended by Ichiro Akuto. It appears that there was one release of about 6,000 bottles.

The nose is malty and quite nutty, very soft and light overall. There is vanilla and a hint of banana, everything very well blended together.

The palate is medium-bodied and creamy. There is again vanilla, followed by citrus notes and underpinned by a delightful maltiness. An unexpected spicy element delivers an additional punch to this delightful palate.

The finish is of medium length and warming. Vanilla mingles with malty and nutty elements.

I simply loved this blend! It seems unassuming and light but delivers with perfect balance and a delightful maltiness. Well done, Akuto-san!
