Nose: Varnish, malt, and a little sour (a bit on apple skins). It turns a little chocolatey. Grainy sweetness and a touch of sandalwood. There's something nice in there, but the alcohol is a bit fierce and the sour note is just a bit off. (with water) Varnish, camphor/medicinal, a little residual sweetness and fruit. More grain. Nice, but simple.

Palate: Oily and fermented apple juice (it's not quite cider, but it could be). Cinnamon, brown baking spices, and just a bit of sour wood. The alcohol is a little out of step. It's nice, but doesn't quite do it for me. (with water) bitter grain and fruity sourness and sweetness. Cardboard(!) emerges with more time.

Finish/Comment: An interesting show. It's better in smaller and fewer pours, as the flaws come out with more time and consumption. At first, this was ready for something in the 'B' range, but fell to the C+/B- area with time.
