No, but my girlfriend has. :-) We were at an Ardbeg tasting and there was a drawing for a bottle of the Alligator Committee release. Her name was called and I celebrated. :-D

@SquidgyAsh I won a signed bottle of Feis Ile 2010 Bowmore Tempest. Bowmore announced a road of the same name somewhere in the country and the first person to take their photo next to the road sign and send it to them won. The also sent me a "staff" jacket and t shirt. Great prizes !!

@Ridley and Mantisking VERY VERY COOL!!!!! I'm trying to enter into as many whisky competitions as I can, but was curious as to how valuable the bottles tend to be on average or how rare or good if that makes any sense.

@SquidgyAsh: I won a bottle of Bells in a School raffle many years ago. More recently, I purchased (stole) two very old bottles of Talisker 10yo. for Au.$10.00 at a car-boot sale: One bottle had been opened, the other was closed but had most of the label missing. The open bottle had what would constitute a small dram gone.
They let me taste the open bottle (from a tea cup) and it was all I could do to stop myself from cheering - Both bottles were superb!
I was told by the seller that her Dad had been given them at work but had thought the Whisky a bit rough!! I guess that's reasonable provenance. I hope I'm not too far off topic. I do consider this a winner and one that will probably never happen again.
Slainte!

I won a bottle of Bruichladdich Organic at a Companions of the Quaich dinner in Oakville in January. Not my favourite of mine, so glad I didn't pay for it!

@A'bunadhman My friend that story is not off topic at all and it makes me EXTREMELY jealous of you. I do believe a little bit of drool has hit my keyboard in awe and jealousy :D
@talexander haha that's awesome! Free whisky and almost as good as it being a bottle that you love. At least if it's a bottle you don't care for as you said at least you didn't pay for it!!

I've only won one bottle so far courtesy of Mark Reynier of Bruichladdich via Twitter, and merely days after opening an account at that - needless to say, my views on Twitter have changed considerably since that moment!
That was the Octomore Comus 4.2 by the way which I'm very much looking forward to opening.. so I can't tell you how good the whisky is (yet) but I'm sure it'll be a cracker!
@A'bunadhman That is indeed a "win"! Great story..

@systemdown I actually joined Twitter over you telling me about you winning that bottle! Haven't won any off Twitter yet, but I've won two different prizes off Facebook so far :D Thanks for turning me onto the idea of winning whiskies off the social sites!

So I just won a small sized bottle of 40 yr old Speyside from Abbey Whisky. I'm also entered into a competition for a bottle of Pendryn Welsh Whisky. I know a couple other people here have won whisky before. So I was just curious who all has won whisky before, what sort of competition was it and what did you win? Was the whisky good or meh?
