How to spot a Connosr

It sounds like there will be quite a few of us gathering at the Spirit of Toronto this evening. I would be pleased to meet any of you in person.

So what does a Connosr look like? In my experience, no different from anyone else.

Maybe we should design a small pin to wear at events just like this. Perhaps something that incorporates a "C" and a glencairn glass.

Any ideas for tonight or the future?

Great idea @Nozinan don't forget we should have a secret hand shake and a decoder ring. Maybe tan trench coat with sun glasses. Lol. I have often wanted to meet more of our connosr family when traveling. :)

Well, it looks like the best way to spot a Connosr is to be around a Connosr. It was very nice meeting my fellow whisky enthusiasts both from Toronto and abroad.

I still like the idea of a pin. I looked up some websites and depending on how fancy you want it (magnet vs pin, enamel, etc...) it would only be up to $3-4 per pin based on a hundred or more. The biggest logistical issues I can see is that one person would have to order them (and pay) up front and shipping them individually would be expensive (likely more than the cost of the pin to say...Australia).

I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for how to make this possible.

@Nozinan That would be a great idea, I got a SMWS pin when I joined them, something like that could be passed on to other Connosr members. I would by one or two and wear them. :)

How about a T-shirt? I know some forums that I participate in have organized some for the members paid for by the members.

Great idea. T-shirt would be great for casual events, and a pin for those prestigious events where business attire is to be worn would also be good.

We could make it a set, one of each.

T-shirts and pins are both great ideas. I still like the secret hand shake and decoder rings as well. Just saying we should have as much fun with the idea as possible. :)

All I know is I would have liked to have been there, but alas for the sheer hugeness that is Canada.
