Tried this in 2014 at Spirit of Toronto, but not sure what the vintage was. My notes say I found it sweet, and I liked the Solist bourbon cask the best of the ones I tried that day.

I think a store near me has it (They have a lot of Kalavan bottles.) I've never paid attention to the brand so I cannot confirm until I walk in again. Maybe a week or two from now.

@Nozinan same here with the Sherry (not the current Kavalan Sherry but the previous Solist), it was spectacular but too sweet.

I'm in the search for a Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique, and I've noticed there a several 2016 bottles around in Europe (but none in the US). Anybody have tried these? If so, how they compared with 2014/15 expressions. I don't believe in awards blindly, I really loved the Solist Fino and Sherry and I'm curious about the Vinho, but I wonder if new bottling has lost quality and they just want to replicate the awarded expression with "similar" bottles taking advantage of the hype...
Something like that happened with an Argentine wine "Famiglia Bianchi Malbec", which was a $10 bottle that after being named best Malbec in the world in 2014, the price duplicated and triplicated. All the available bottles in the market were the 2014 and newer with a small detail to consider: the awarded bottle was a 2012 vintage :)
