This Dun Bheagan Vintage Bottling from 2010 (NAS) was picked up several years ago as I was looking for a bargain Islay. It stayed tucked away until I decided to pop it open tonight. Was it worth it? Lets find out!

Nose - Sweet, fresh fruit, berry syrup, hints of light citrus and apple juice. Youthful.

Palate - Sweet, smokey peppery spice and astringent ash. Fruits follow through immediately and we're back to more light smoke.

Finish - Fairly long, smokey, sweet and I'll take another...smokes lingering long after you're done.

Conclusion: I can't remember how much I picked this up for, but it wasn't too much. The real question, was it worth it? Absolutely yes. It was somewhat of a hit or miss buy, but I got lucky with this one. Several layers of flavor with a nice mix of sweet, smokey, and fruit all in one.

Revisited this whisky a year later and its still spectacular. Rich, oily, and full of smoke and fruits, eventhough it was opened in Oct. 2018. I think it's actually gotten even better with all that time. What a dram! Moving up to 85.
