Invergordon from the 1970s can be so beautiful. I already found that out with the bottlings from Liquid Art/Beacon Spirits and the XOP from Douglas Laing. This one was bottled by Daily Dram for the tenth anniversary of Belgian importer The Nectar.

Nice and soft nose on coconut milk, yoghurt with peach and some pencil shavings. Orangettes! Add some mocha, pineapple and mint. And butter. This reminds me more of a good rum than a single grain. Very pleasant nose.

It is oily (not as creamy as I expected) and very sweet. I get some tropical fruit and orange marmalade. Good spiciness as well on white pepper, nutmeg and cardamom. Slightly bitter oak. Becomes sweeter with the second sip. Again, I feel like I am sipping a rum.

The finish is wonderfully long and warming.

Again a top class grain. Well, if you have to cough up between 230 and 250 EUR for a bottle, it had better be.
