The third release of Irish single malt in honour of the Lichtburg, the historically significant cinema in Essen, is an 18-year-old that matured on a former port cask. This was also 'provided by Jack Teeling, Dublin', which suggests that it is a former Cooley cask. On the back label it is described as a 'funfun cask', whatever that means.

Delicious nose where the port cask immediately sparkles. All kinds of berries, mainly red (doh!) and strawberries, dipped in manuka honey. Wine gums and tiger balm. Nice and aromatic and rich. Another hint of rose water and soft notes of the oak.

Great body. Nice and oily. Very sweet on red fruit and some marshmallows. Meringue and strawberry jam. Blood oranges and a hint of marzipan. Gently seasoned on nutmeg and pepper. Lightly drying.

Medium finish, softly drying, on red fruit that is now gradually going on the candied tour.

Ah, this is another winner. Very much enjoyed it. Thank you, Benny.
