Does the weather matter here? Most assuredly here in Texas, where I am. If it is too hot, that;s the only weather that matters where I am, outside we make it so inside. Air conditioning is our friend. I drink what I want whatever adult beverage I perfer at the time. How is it where you are? Does it matter to you what the weather is as to what type adult beverage you will drink? Thanks for your responses.

Certainly when the Autumn is turning to Winter I have found myself longing for something more comforting & warming, hearty stew, a heavily sherried or peaty dram.

I don't think the weather would stop me enjoying a dram but I do think it affects my choice.

For me the weather matters, during the summer generally i head towards a cold drink first, usually beer, to keep me going. The Spring, Autumn and Winter months though i do focus on my drams and they are the first choice for me to warm me up!

@mohler - I agree, the weather can't stop me from enjoying a dram or brewski/ale or pint.

@Alanjp - I like how you think, hot = ice cold brewski and if hotter I'll have mine icee.

I drink regardless the weather. However, the weather dictates my choice to a large extent. I live in Seattle so lots of cold drizzle. I like heavier single malts and beers in the winter. The holidays call for hot toddies and occasional hot buttered rum.

I might get attacked here but on very cold nights I'll put a spoonful of near boiling water in a less expensive dram. It goes straight to your head and makes everything warm.

@Wodha - I like the way you drink. I like a good ale or two and beer. Something like a good pint of Belhaven Scottish Ale or St Andrews Ale or Bass Pale Ale or my favorite Guinness. And not chilled but just the temperature it is, here in Texas this way drinking beer is strange. And the general population here is clueless what ale is. Now, I'm going to play a Texan, how is hot buttered rum made?

And for the dram now @ 8pm, it is Aberlour 12yr old double cask matured. A double shot, or more, and this weather here tonight may call for a 2nd trip to the liqour cabinet. It's going to dip down into the middle, or lower, teens. Yes, if I should say, it is a bit nipp-ly.

Your weather sound's a lot like London. But I can't really say for sure cause I haven't been to London or any other place the UK. I would like to someday. Especially Scottland, where my ancestors are from.
