Seven Wood? Seriously? Yup. Bourbon casks and the following French wine casks: Tronçais, Allier, Jupilles, Les Bertranges, Vosges and Limousin. Oh, boy, I hope this turns out ok…

Well, this nose is certainly promising. Delicious peach and freshly cut grass, marzipan and apricot pastry. Sultanas. Bright with a sweet side and even a touch of smoke. Very nice.

It is not as fruity on the palate as the nose promised, but still nicely round and spicy on cinnamon and ginger. A touch of yellow stone fruit and brown sugar, peach and candied orange peel. Toffee. It works.

The finish is just shy of long, but very tasty with a soft sweetness. At the death I suddenly get a salty note and some… errrr…. Truffle oil! Well done!

I feared the many wine casks would shoot this malt to all corners of the compass, but they did not. Au contraire. The flavors are well integrated and the ABV is just fine. Lovely, new Jura.
