@storm1969 Would be interested in your thoughts as I have seen this at the LCBO and have yet to pull the trigger.

@Astroke, This is undeniably JD. What is it that gives it that JD vibe? ...the stills?...the barrels?...the Lincoln County process? I don't know, but whatever it is, it is damn fine whisky. Soft, dry entry, tannic, big oak notes over a whisp of sweet maraschino. Rye and oak spices from mid-palate through exit. Faint pepper into a warm, dry finish that lingers..echoes of orange pith.
For Pete's sake, buy some!

I've only had their old no 7 and that didn't make me want to try more of their other offerings...

@Astroke It's good. Kind of a middle of the road rye, not to spicy. Odd banana note. Definitely has the Jack Daniels terrior.

@storm1969,
my bottle is from Barrel No. 16-7655, Rick No. L-29, Bottled 11-29-2016. Definite banana note rising from the open bottle.

Just saw this in the store and bought it. Anybody heard anything about it? It has a 70% rye mash bill....
Will likely open it tomorrow.
