@Nemesis101 it probably wasn't intentional but your review of Kilchoman 2007 was an answer to my question. Thanks! Great to hear that Kilchoman seems to live up to the hype! I'm still curious to know what Jim Murray thinks of these whiskies...

@Maltmaniacmate I don't have the 2014 Bible but I do have the 2012 version. In it Murray gives the Balblair 01 a score of 90.5 What I do have is a bottle of 2002 Balblair and think it is very good indeed. Bought it on Ralfies recommendation at year end. There were 2 more bottles available locally (now gone) wished I had picked them up as well. Several of Murray's notes on the 01 apply to the 02 I think. Clean Spicey barley (peppery). No e150,NCF and 46% as you know. Probably wouldn't give the 02 a 90.5 but have no hesitation on calling it a 87 or 88. Very enjoyable. Ralfy as you know seems to try and pick an accessible affordable dram. He has not steered me wrong the last 3 years in his whisky of the year selection ie Laddie 10, Glendronach Revival and the Balblair 02. I value his opinion more than that of some other reviewers. If you can locate a bottle of the 02 I highly recommend it. Sorry I don't know what Jim Murray's take on this whisky was. Jonesz

We all know about (and discussed and dissected) Jim Murrays whisky of the year; Glenmorangie Ealanta. But what about some of the other best of awards such as Whisky Advocate's choice of Kilchoman Vintage 2007 & Ralfy's choice of Balblair Vintage 2002? I don't actually have Jim's 2014 bible, so I don't know what points he gave them? Any of you guys know? And what are your thoughts about the two whiskies?!
