While the label proudly states ‘The Secret Islay’, I think we can all agree this is Lagavulin. After all, Lagavulin is derived from 'Laggan Mhouillin', meaning the ‘undeep valley of the mill’. ‘Nuff said.

The nose starts fairly soft on some vermiculate wood, wet autumn leaves, lemon juice, aniseed and sweet & sour peat. Only a bit of smoke, actually.

The body is very light with some sea salt and vanilla, white fruit and olives. Ashes kick in big time, but it does seem quite young (well, it is) on apples and some soot. In all honesty, this is actually quite flat.

The finish is medium long and somewhat sweet.

A very clean, but young Lagavulin, that goes down dangerously easy.
