At the end of 2021, a new release of Lindores appeared that was exclusively matured in bourbon casks. Remember that the first release was a mix of bourbon, sherry and wine casks. So we can expect a completely different whisky here, I think. No less than 11,000 bottles were launched at a very friendly price. I have to say that it is very pale.
The nose offers coconut, a truckload of vanilla and white chocolate with puffed rice. Yep: Galak Popri, indeed. In addition, something that reminds me of yeast, which betrays its young age. Finally, some farmer's butter.
The body is on the light side and yet it comes in a bit alcoholic. Well, it hasn't had enough time to integrate, I think. Vanilla, unripe pineapple, the flesh of a coconut. Hint of lime juice. Nevertheless, a pleasant 'drinker'. The young age plays a bit of a part in this.
The finish is medium and sweet. Some white pepper on the deathbed.
Ideal as an aperitif, so to speak. That being said, the potential is undeniable. Wait until it's 10 years old, then we're going to experience something, I think.
