Lingdarroch... anyone heard of it? And yet WhiskyBroker already has a release on the market of the unpeated spirit. I heard whispers left and right that this spirit was distilled in the Lowland distillery Bladnoch. But what about the sample I now have on my desk, pressed into the hand by my companion Anthony? It is peated spirit distelled on October 17, 2020 and put in cask. This sample was already taken back out on 16 March 2021, which means that it only matured for five months. I'm very curious.

On the nose I get vanilla and nougat, meringue and guimauve. I am immediately pleasantly surprised. In addition, some typical notes such as overcooked vegetables and the roots of a young plant. Very earthy, but with a lot of character. Even a hint of vanilla pudding.

You wouldn't say it's above 60%, though. Goes down dangerously smooth. Yes, of course, you can feel it. Typical notes of new make (which I love) supplemented with again a cartload of vanilla. Beautiful baker’s spices that make it nice and hot.

Long, warm finish on vanilla and a hint of young apples.

This one is off to a good. I'm curious about the sequel, Anthony!
