I has only been a few months since I tried a 10 years old Linkwood from The Ultimate, but that was one from 1984, bottled in 1995 from a sherry butt. This is again a 10 years old, but from a completely different era and from a bourbon barrel. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2018.
Fresh, playful and summery nose. Apples, peach, vanilla, gummi bears, gras and green banana are offered. Simply, true, but very pleasant at the same time.
It is quite soft and clean on the palate. White fruit, peach, gummi bears, banana… yes, fine continuation of the nose, upholstered with a sprinkling of white pepper and some nutmeg. Clear and accessible, if indeed a bit simple.
On the medium long finish, I get white fruit and pepper once more.
A nice dram to be enjoyed on a sunny day – even with a cube of ice. Thanks for the sample, Benny.
