The Nectar of the Daily Drams is a well-known and respected Belgian bottler. In recent years they have bottled four casks of Linkwood. One of them is this 28 Year Old from 1984, that was released a few years back.
Fresh and fruity nose on manadrin and apples. Mildly floral as well. Think heather. Add some mint. Some vanilla, but apart from that, devoid of spices. Rather ordinary.
The arrival is light and malty. Then the fruit from the nose appears with a little more vanilla, but not much alse. Sweet malt, apples and some citrus. A touch of liquorice and some mint, as well as some dry notes of the wood.
The finish is rather short on vanilla and oak.
Not bad, but I am not rocked of my socks at all. Hard to believe this is 28 years of age. Tastes a lot younger.
