Can anyone suggest any good liquor stores in Hagerstown Maryland? I will be passing through on my way to Virginia. Richmond and Williamsburg areas. I'm looking for shops that have a solid selection of single malts and bourbons.

Hagerstown? Really? Not a big town. Don't know the stores. There's plenty in DC, Baltimore, and Montgomery County, Maryland. Drop a line, or drop by, if you are coming closer to DC.

Talk to @Nock about Williamsburg. He might know that area.

Don't forget, though, that Virginia is a state Alcoholic Beverage Control system, which most of my local Virginia buddies find quite frustrating. You want the good stuff, selection, and good prices, go to DC, MoCo, and Baltimore. Some things you can get in Virginia, for sure, though, and it will be cheaper for most things than in Ontario, that's for damned sure. Even southern Pennsylvania around Gettysburg is not too far from Hagerstown...selection is not huge, but sometimes you can get something there too. I bought Laphroaig 18 for $ 54 plus 6% tax there a couple of years ago.

Thanks Victor! Ha! I know, I am just driving through Hagerstown....no plans on vacationing there. How is the weather in D.C.? I heard you guys got some snow? Any suggestions for stores in the west suburbs of Washington? Thank you for the invite. I will drop you a line if I decide on spending a night in the Washington area.

Yes, I was reading liquor control board website for Virginia. They have the updated prices listed. There are some better deals for certain.

@StevieC, it is cold as hell here right now (-15 C thermometer temp overnight here tonight in Gaithersburg), but that should break in 2 or 3 days. March is usually chilly here but not bitterly cold. We got 12 cm of snow in the last 24 hrs. When are you traveling?

Take a look at our local prices here:
www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/dlcsearch/ You can research the inventory for the individual stores. There are 25 of them, a county system.

$ 65.39 Corryvreckan? ($ 59.99 plus 9% sales tax) And yes, there are right now 218 bottles of Aberlour A'bunadh at $ 74.69 plus tax for sale in my county. Last month they were on sale for $ 62.99...mostly batch 45, from what I've seen.

Corryvreckan is (when available) $180 here, and A'Bunadh is 20 dollars more.

I suppose this is a good thing...I'd be buying even more than I do now...
