Yeah, @paddockjudge clued me in on this one. One of the few truly interesting moments from the main floor of SOT. Not a lot of it was passed about...
This tasted like a good batch of Lot 40 with a bit more power. I would definitely buy this over the regular one. I'm not heavily into rye, but a cask strength Canadian rye that tastes GOOD must, in my opinion, be encouraged and supported.

Sounds like a roadtrip in my future then. I really enjoy Lot No. 40 and would love to have it at cask strength.

Mark Bylok has a review and write-up of a sample of this that was provided to him by Wiser's. Here's a snippet:
"Consumer expectations of Canadian whisky are changing, but can a cask strength whisky thrive? I hope so, because this Lot 40 Cask Strength rivals any of the great whiskies I've had from North America: Pappy 20, Stagg, William Laure Weller, Thomas Handy Rye. The sampling of Lot 40 Cask Strength is easily on that level. The complexity of a Pappy 20, with the power of a Stagg, and the rush of flavor of the Thomas Handy Rye."

@Nelom I'm the one that posted the original thread on Reddit you reference. A month ago I also posted a review of Lot 40 CS and Wiser's Red Letter CS over on Reddit as well.

While I do not have the same glowing comparisons as Mark Bylok, it did hold up well in a side-by-side to THH '15, which is a resounding success in my opinion. Really good rye, though it does not look like it will be coming to market. Highly recommend trying some.

I saw this over on Reddit: i.imgur.com/Xb27jsW.jpg
Any Spirit of Toronto attendees give it a try? Opinions?
(here's the Reddit thread, as of right now there's nothing interesting there, but maybe that'll change: reddit.com/r/canadawhisky/…)
