This was my first sip of Canadian dram. According to the label, it's a rye whisky.

The nose is very light, no prickle whatsoever. It almost smelled like coffee with a lot of milk in it. Hmm. Weird.

The first sip was rather smooth and sweet, but with a little bite at the end. The second sip gave me the impression I was drinking an orange liqueur like Cointreau. If you exhale right after swallowing, there is a prickly feeling after all.

There is definitely pepper in the finish, which is gently warming and neither long nor short. And being a rye whisky it is certainly different from all the other dram I've had so far.

I'm not head over heals with this one, but it was better than I feared.
