Just wanted to say thanks to Eddie Ludlow and all at the Whisky Lounge for putting together another great day.

I've been lucky enough to attend all three so far and have enjoyed them all. The vibe at the lunchtime session this year was spot on, a good friendly buzz and bustle with enough time for the exhibitors to chat for a few minutes to most people. If one stall was looking busy I just picked one that was quieter.

I got to try a lot of whiskys that I've not had before and double-check my tastebuds from the previous two years. A particular thank-you to the guys from Glenfiddich, Jura, Kilchoman and Compass Box for spending a bit more than just a few minutes and making it a great day.

The tastbuds had a bit of a battering by the end of the session but The King Car was the last dram of the day and was a wonderful surprise but my dram of the day was the Snow Phoenix.

Thanks again Eddie and what were other peoples favourite whisky tried for the first time?

I didn't get round to taste as much as I wanted (as I ended up hanging around after the Kavalan masterclass getting in the way of the cleanup) but I really liked Creative Whisky's Macduff - I think it was a Chester Whisky Fest special bottling - it was a lovely liquid caramel dram, just what I look for around Christmas. I was meant to go back and grab a bottle before I left, but had to run for the last train back to London.

The Kavalan was also really interesting - I've tried their silly Solist Sherry before (the most over the top 2.5 year old sherried whisky you will ever find) but never got the chance to have a go with the others. Top work Mr Ludlow on getting them over to the UK. Now to try and decipher my notes and turn them into a blog post...
