Nose: A lot of sherry here with soft spice. Cinnamon , honey, pepper. Sultanas and baked apples. Very sweet. With some bouillon notes too. Palate: Very nice delicate sherry influence. With those dried fruit honey comb, golden syrup and spices sprinkled with almonds all ending with a lovely chocolate ending. Finish: honey, dry sherry and dark chocolate.
A very good dram, and you know what’s the only thing that is missing? some more % ABV. I wish this was bottled at 48%, even 46% would do it well, with more mouth feel, and body. The price is very good, but I do think people would be willing to pay let’s say another 15% and get the undiluted liquid. I do prefer this sherried profile to the 3rd edition. (though score is the same, per quality)
