Ooh, an independent release of M&H by TBWC. It is not whisky, to be clear, this is spirit, because barely one year old. No less than 678 bottles of 50cl were launched in 2019 with that typical label that looks like a cartoon. This time they even changed the name of the company on the label to That Boutique-Y Malt Company.

Bright nose on wood, minerals, pebbles on the beach and a hint of citrus fruit. Some mango and red fruit with a hint of cinnamon. After a few minutes of breathing I get buttercups and caramel. This is surprisingly rich for such a young age, but of course the climate is quite a bit determining here. Very good nose!

Mouth coating, but despite the high ABV very accessible. I get a lot of spiciness, now, as if this spirit has matured in a cask that has previously held rye whisky. Intensely spicy, even. The fruitiness is a bit delayed, but midpalate some banana appears and some baked apples sprinkled with cinnamon. There is hardly any note of citrus.

The finish is long, evolves from spicy back to sweet, shows some woodsmoke on the deathbed and is extremely satisfying.

Impressive is the least you can say about this. To the extent that it was still necessary, M&H is once again rising in my esteem.
