Out of curiosity I recently bought a jar of moonshine. It's really just stuff to drink and get drunk. I think I'd rather drink it than a cheap vodka for that purpose (if I did that anymore), but otherwise it has no business being in the cabinet of a whisky "Connosr". Don't expect to sit there with moonshine in your Glencairn; you will be disappointed.

Whereas I'd say there are some 'moonshines' that are definitely worth a try: Georgia Moon is simple and popcorny; Buffalo Trace White Dog is interesting as an idea of where the whiskey comes from; FEW White Whiskey is quite tasty, with lots of character; the Wasmund's Spirits are slightly on the insane side (apple and cherrywood smoked 99% rye spirit anyone?)....
There are some which are pretty much vodka in a fancy bottle, but there are some out there that are worth an experiment.

Thanks for the input. I decided to bypass the moonshine experiment for now and got a bottle of Thomas H. Handy Rye. Amazing!!!

What's the deal with it? I was planning on buying some Original Moonshine from stillhouse distillery. tomorrow. According to some guy at Total wine, it's the best one. Has anyone tried this and if so, what should I expect. I'm a single malt guys and just started getting into bourbons.
