@JeffC, You can check this link(which is for Frankfurt airport) but the prices should be the same for Munich airport also I guess.

And where is the discount for those whiskies? 40€ for Ardmore TC and Glenmorangie 10 and even 46€ for the Dalmore 12. Ofc thats 1 liter but I don't see the advantage in this "duty free" system, except for the airport...

Thanks for the link DevD. I looked for something similar on the Munich airport webpage but did not find a price list. Perhaps the FFM airport is just bigger and more well organized.
Wills, I hear what you are saying. I would never buy a duty free product that I could buy in the place where I lived if it was less expensive in the place where I lived. For example, the American whiskies listed on that link are all a bit more expensive than they would be for a comparable size (1 liter) in my area of residence. The attraction is simply to get a whisky that is not available in my area of residence. That's what I am looking for because it is unique and exotic and not readily available here.

So does anybody fly out of there regularly? I have a friend who will be flying out of there to the US after a European trip and he's offered to pick me up something nice but I just need to be a bit more specific about what I would like. I know there might be better place along the way to get something but I don't want to have my friend carry around something for me so it is convenient to pick something up at the airport.
