I often wish whisky was low- or no-alcohol with still with all the flavor. I'd love to drink the heck out of it, but that much alcohol consumption just won't fly.

I agree. One reason I try to take a long break is that I've now cultivated a cabinet containing some really great open bottles. And my primary motivation to drink the stuff is TASTE. So I don't want to get into the habit of reaching for it all the time. Whenever I go above 4-5 drams a week I know I have to take a break and aim for 2-3 a week at most.
It's as much alcohol as I would like to drink. But alcohol aside, I would like to drink a lot more.
That's why I think it's a shame this stuff isn't meant for neat sipping.

I came across an article in Today's Globe and Mail. Apparently it is not uncommon to have people go "dry" for a month after New Year's. I am not doing it to go on the bandwagon but my reasoning is probably similar to others. The increase in consumption leading up to and including the winter holiday season makes January a good time to stop and reset what is "normal" consumption again.
So it seems that in the UK a gentleman has developed 2 distilled spirit beverages that are alcohol free (and calorie free). Seedlip in 2 varieties (garden 108 and spice 94).
Has anyone come across these? Unfortunately they are specifically marketed as not intended to be consumed neat. But maybe with soda?
I'm considering ordering some. Would love to hear if anyone has heard of it.
