So i was having some friends over and as the night went on the green food dye was calling to me. This may have had to do with the whiskey but who knows ;) So i decided to spike the standard Jameson bottle we had with some food dye since it is not an expensive whiskey and the food dye would not "ruin" a good bottle potentially. Now this brought on the amateur taste panel we assembled with a non spiked bottle and a spiked bottle of Jameson original. We could not taste the difference, but i did not know if anyone else could? Additionally, will the food dye have longer term affects on the whiskey. I obviously would never do this with premium whiskeys but i didn't know if I could have some St. Patty's Day fun with a better bottle next year without altering the flavor.
